This is a Joomla tutorial for people who know a bit about Joomla and web build/design.

Steps

Go to Google Adsense and login to your Google account. If you don't have one, create one.
Press on the tab that says "Adsense setup."
Choose the product (size, shape, form, etc.) you want to add to your site.
Follow the Google Adsense instruction to create the desired ad and get the code for it from Adsense. That's at the end of the design process.
Copy the code.
Start all services on your WAMP server and go to LocalHost/joomla/administrator.
Login as administrator.
On the control panel go to Extensions->module manager->new.
Mark Custom HTML and press "Next".
Fill in the details (title and positioning) of your Google ad and paste the code you copied earlier into the Custom Output field (text editor).
Save and open a new browser window.
Type http://localhost/joomla, and your new Google ad should appear in the position of the template which you have chosen. (Left- left side of the template under the main menu, header, footer, user 1-4 and so on.)

Google Adsense is for people that have a large amount of people clicking their site everyday (500 and up; less than that and Google will let you put the ad for 2-4 months and will pay you, but will notify you that it is not viable to Google to put ads on start up websites and that they are stopping the payments. They will force you to remove their ads from your site. (You want to get paid for an ad on your site- and when they stop- you should also stop their ad.)
Try putting your friends and family's ads for free or for a small amount of money. It's good for link building and Google search ratings but also will bring you a safer income and in the future-more traffic to your site-which will lead to you putting (and profiting from) a Google ad.
You can also ask your friends and family to put ads of your site in their sites in exchange for you advertising them on yours.

Don't go to your friends pc's and laptops all day to click you site's ads. They might find out and ban you in the future. You will not get paid what you think they owe you because you cheated.
